I have more than 20 years as a “company-based Personal Assistant”, with over 15 years at boardroom level. I took redundancy last year (2018) when my then-boss decided that he didn’t need a full-time PA. After six-plus months of looking for the “right” job, as opposed to a job for “right now”, and after lots of research, I decided to launch a Virtual Assistant business.
I’m based in South Oxfordshire, and I’ve always believed that being a Personal Assistant means two things…
- You’re there to make your boss’s life as easy as possible and
- To make him or her look as good as possible!
And that applies equally if you’re a Personal Assistant or a Virtual one. Small businesses – especially start-ups – often don’t need or can’t afford to have a conventional set-up, which often includes having a dedicated PA sitting at her desk with computer, telephone etc, on a full-time salary and benefits, and all the other costs that that involves – plus expensive office space. If you only need a couple of hours, a couple of times a week, then a Virtual Assistant is perfect for you. But, of course, I’m available to work for longer periods of time!If you think you could benefit from my years of experience, do please get in touch for an informal chat.
I love dogs, Scotland, classical music, reading and – the best stress-reliever for me! – baking: bread, biscuits, cakes – you name it (I will even – as an un-costed add-on – bake for you). And I love organising people, too!
